Adoption Event Helper:

The Little RES Q has an active outreach program and participates in animal adoption and education events throughout the year across Ontario.

Through adopt-a-thons, presentations and information booths at trade shows and events, we are working to educate the public about the importance of proper care of pet reptiles and finding available pets new forever homes.

We’re looking for volunteers to help us at these events and training is provided.

If you would like Little RES Q to attend your events, please contact us.

Crafting for a Cause:

Crafting is a fantastic way to get involved and show off your talent!  We are accepting all kinds of crafts, from sewing to perler beads and more.  It's purely at your leisure with crafting drop-off locations throughout the GTA.

PetSmart Volunteer:

The Little RES Q has a number of remote adoption Kiosks throughout the GTA and we need help to monitor and maintain these setups.  A PetSmart volunteer would perform weekly visits to their assigned location to check on the turtle stationed there.

Other duties include helping the shelter staff during adoption events at the assigned store.   You would be the face of the rescue, helping to find homes for the turtles at the store.

Shelter Care Attendant:

This is a dirty job but it's very rewarding!

We need folks to come to the shelter once or twice a week to help clean the shelter and feed the animals. You can't be afraid to get your hands dirty. You will wash food and water bowls, help clean community tanks and filters, and help keep the rescue clean and tidy.

Other responsibilities include assisting with adoptions and surrenders that arrive during the day, and assist the shelter staff with medicating and caring for any sick or injured animals as they require.

Please Note: The Little RES Q shelter is located in Pefferlaw, Ontario. There is no access to public transit and will require access to a reliable vehicle.

Reptile Foster Program:

Fostering is a great opportunity to explore reptile are without the lifelong commitment as an owner.  If you have a full set-up for a specific reptile and would like to foster that species, please contact us.

Transporting Animals (Turtle Taxi):

We’re searching for volunteer drivers who are willing to make occasional adoption drop-offs, surrender pick-ups and equipment and supply transports throughout the GTA area.  Interested volunteers do not need to have any experience with reptiles to apply, but must have access to a vehicle to reach the main Pefferlaw shelter.
